Want to Meet Up?

By

Learning to become more active can be a challenge. And staying active over your entire lifetime can be an even bigger challenge. It’s not just that it could get boring doing the same thing over and over again, but also it is a challenge to find and do new things.

Here are the issues: You’ve done the gym workouts. Working out at home is fantastic, but you are by yourself.   Swimming is great, but it is not always easiest to then go on to places when your hair is wet (ladies, I understand your issues with long hair!) And finally, you are just bored doing the same thing over again.

Been there. Working out your entire life can take its toll when it comes to  creating new workouts. Yes, a skillful personal trainer can bring the required solution to this issue, but not everyone has access to personal trainers or coache.

Awhile back I stumbled on a solution that presents new possibilities. Check it out: www.meetup.com. It started with the idea to organize meet ups. Some individuals organized dodge ball for adults, then expanded to volleyball clinics, basket- ball leagues, alpine outdoors adventures, ski trips, running groups and just about anything else you can come up with. If you think about a group that you wish you could join, this site will have it. And best of all, you can start your own group and search by zip code to find meet up’s with groups near you.

Find your inner child again. If you have an interest in exploring an activity (whether old or new) go and just meet with one of the groups. Why not do something new, unexpected and exiting? It will help you to stay active for the long run, manage your weight, your stress and mental outlook. In the process, you just might discover something that you might have done as a child and wished you would do it as an adult, but didn’t know how you could get around to figuring out how to make it happen.

Stay focused.
